Clark Material Handling Asia was created as Clark Material Handling Company took over the forklift division of Samsung Heavy Industries on July 16, 1998.

Clark Material Handling Asia designs, manufacturers, distributes, and supports 1.5 - 7.5 ton IC forklifts and 1.0 - 3 ton counterbalanced and reach machines from its 312,000 sq. ft. facility in Changwon, Korea. The facility sits on 15 acres and employs over 460 people. The Seoul office houses domestic and export sales along with the Finance Department. Located on the premises is a complete engineering test facility, which allows performance testing for the next generation of Clark products. The factory is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.

The plant utilizes "Just in Time" and KANBAN, for lean inventory, which lends itself to a much cleaner, uncluttered and efficient facility.

Clark NORTH AMERICA Headquarters

CLARK Material Handling Company recently announced the opening of its new North American headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky. This nine acre campus features two buildings; the first is a 100, 000 square foot facility that will house sales & marketing, customer service engineering, aftermarket service & support, finance, purchasing, research & development, ISD, and manufacturing. In addition this building features a product showroom to showcase CLARK's extensive product line as well as a 5,200 square foot training area designed to support and train CLARK's over 220 North American dealer locations. The second building is 52,000 square feet and is primarily for storing miscellaneous inventory and equipment. These facilities provide a stable base for CLARK to service its valued dealers and customers.

CLARK Parts Distribution Center

In December, 1999 we opened our 180,000 sq. foot state-of-the-art parts distribution warehouse. Design, operational parameters, and personnel were combined to create a world class parts distribution facility which is centrally located to serve all of CLARK's North American dealers and customers. The facility is directly managed by CLARK employees, resulting in cost savings and performance improvement over using an outside management company.
